Windows 7 SP1 release

Windows 7 SP1 was launched on 22 February 2011. The SP1 offers more features than ever before. Windows 7 SP1 is available from a downloaded package, installation DVD or through Windows Update.
Steps: The process takes half an hour at least so you will have to restart your computer at halfway of the installation.
How much free disk space you need:
Through Windows Update: 750 MB (1.05 GB if you are using a 64-bit OS)
On a downloaded package/DVD: 4.10 GB (7 GB if you are using a 64-bit OS)
4 steps:
1. Unplug any USB devices or cables. Failure to do so will cause the installation to fail.
2. If you are using a laptop, plug in the power adapter.
3. Backup your files to a CD/DVD, external hard drive, USB or to a network.
4. Disable your antivirus software before installing SP1.
Note: The ability to back up to a network location is only possible on Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate.
